Many of you probably are asking yourself if it is better to do cardio or implement weights while exercising. Well, both of them are totally fine, but certainly, both types of exercises can take you to different directions.
Cardio helps you burn more calories and fat from your entire body while weight-training workouts help you to build muscle and strength your body. According to U.S. News, both of them are needed in an exercise program to obtain optimum results. In other words, you have to complement both workouts in your routines but make sure to set your goals first!
"GOALS ARE ESSENTIAL"
In my personal experience, I have tried to implement both, but definitely weights-training makes you gain muscle and avoids from your body to regain weight. Some of my favorite cardio workouts are: Running, step climbing, jumping the rope, or/and dancing. I usually take 20 to 30 minutes of cardio workouts before I use weights in my routine. I consider my cardio as my warm up prior to my weight-training; however, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO DO A WARM UP BEFORE ANY EXERCISE!!!
WARM UP!

WEIGHTS

Begin your weight-training with light dumbbells weights (3 to 5 pounds). It is a fact of time for you to see how your muscles get used to that particular weight. At the time you feel is not heavy anymore or your muscles do not burn, you can increase the lifting weight! Now, repetition when lifting weights is important; you have to make 8 to 12 reps for each round, but if you want to increase the weight, do less reps( 4 to 6). In other words, heavier the weights, less reps, and lighter the weights, more reps.
LIGHT WEIGHTS MORE REPS, HEAVIER WEIGHTS LESS REPS
I really enjoy doing both types of exercises, I feel energized to keep going and finish my day. Remember, it does not matter which one you want to implement in your routine. As a matter of fact, everyone has different set goals and objectives. However, just by exercising, you are already making a change in your life.
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and I hope it helps a little in your process to change your lifestyle.
